I became interested in the panelized process because of the precise and quality method of construction.  I liked that the walls, floor panels and roof trusses are built on a jig, guaranteeing you have a tightly constructed product.  I also likeds the speediness of getting the home enclosed within 7 to 10 days of beginning.  So many homes can sit and get weathered on during this process but panelized allows you to move quicker and get it enclosed faster.  Building in a panelized process was a no brainer for Fine & Sons.

I would say one of our biggest strengths is our crew, the subcontractors we work with and my family.  

We have an awesome crew that has been with us quite a while.  They work hard and that is evident in our projects.  They take pride in what they do and stand behind our product.  I’m fortunate to have two of my three sons follow in my footsteps and join the crew full time. They know my expectations and they work just as hard as the rest of the crew. We do not say no to a customer, so if the customer wants something, we figure out how to make it happen.  

Another big strength is our subcontractors. Majority of them are local and most of them have been with us since day one.  That is something that my wife and I are proud of.  We want to help others in our communities that are working just as hard as we are, because at the end of the day when you help one another, it shows in the work and in the community.  It gets your name out there; it gets their name out there and that is what helps everybody grow.  

Lastly, I would not be where I am without my wife, Jen and my kids.  Jen is the silent partner behind the company but there is no silence in everything that she does.  She handles all the bookwork and paperwork. She communicates with the homeowners and helps them see the design they envision for her.  She’s a runner, she’s social media, she’s marketing and she’s worked with me for over 25 years.  My three sons all serve a role in the business as well.  My oldest son, Jasper is a Foreman. My middle son, Justus has joined the crew full-time and my youngest son, Jac helps part time.  They all serve a purpose, in a family business, that is just what you do. 

I think I would have to say the end result of a project.  Taking the vision that someone gave you on a napkin or a piece of paper and saying, “I want that” and then turning it into the house that they have always wanting.  The look on their faces when we do our final walk through gives me pride that I know my crew and myself did a good job.  It is a great feeling to see that.
